You probably don’t need to hear compelling reasons to take vacations…
But as it turns out, vacations are actually really good for your health!
Did you know that almost one half of all Americans don’t use all their paid time off each year!?
Here are a few reasons to book your next one:
● Taking vacations is connected with a lower risk of high blood pressure, higher blood sugar levels, and metabolic syndrome (all related to heart disease).
● During vacations, most people are actually more active, get more sleep, and have reduced levels of stress — all tied to better health!
In other studies, it was determined vacations that include a lot of time and activity outdoors (like hiking or camping) lasting a week or more, offer the best health payoffs but shorter getaways still carry lots of benefits.
And here’s the BIG NEWS: taking fewer, mini-vacations is better for your health than if you take just one long vacation per year, even if it means taking a few long weekends instead of a full all-out week off.
Of course there are even MORE benefits to be had during time off if you prioritize keeping your healthy habits as closely to "normal" as possible while you’re there: being active, eating healthy whole foods, etc. A well-rounded approach, with well-chosen treats and splurges is best when it comes to reaching your health and fitness goals.

The newest addition to the BFF brand lineup is a little different! The Prolon company's Fasting Mimicking Diet products are science based, and thoroughly researched (for over 20 years) by well-funded studies (more than $36M from varying funding sources). You can read more in last week's post.
So my advice is to click around their site and learn a bunch...then let me know if you have questions or want to chat! If you DO see enough to want to give any of it a try, you can get 15% off with code BFFDAWN).
